Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is a system of central schools for talented students predominantly from rural areas in India. They are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Students of the JNVs appear for X and XII class examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education. While education in the schools is free including boarding, lodging, uniforms and textbooks, a nominal fee of Rs. 600/- per month is collected from the students of Classes IX to XII only.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are unique educational institutions in India, imparting quality education to students mainly from rural background. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are fully residential, co-educational schools affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi having classes up to 12 standard.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) conducts the NVS exam to shortlist candidates for various posts such as TGT, PGT, Principal, and other non-teaching posts. It is mandatory to pass the CTET exam to be eligible for the NVS exam

Navodaya Vidyalaya Class VI Admit Card Important InstructionsJNVST Class 6 Admit Card 2022 will be available soon.Candidates/Guardians can download the hall ticket without any cost from the official website of NVS.Parents of the candidates should download the admit card on time to avoid the last-minute hassle.It is compulsory for all the applicants to carry the admit card positively to the examination center on the day of examination.Any candidate without the navodaya.gov.in Admit Card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.Admit Card should not be damaged or mutilated. A virtual summer camp had been a lot of fun and engaged children who would otherwise be bored being at home and not being allowed to go out and play. During this virtual summer camp, students have engaged with their peers and enjoyed several creative activities, with everything happening online. 

Why an online camp is a great summer activity for kids?

Kids love online camps because they get to sleep in and stay in their PJs longer—the commute time to and from camp is about zero. In fact, they can attend camp in their PJs if they want to. Additionally, kids (and their parents) love the fact that online camps give them access to topics that may be super-specialized. 

Why is summer camp important?

Summer camp is a community where children come together to have fun while learning lifelong lessons. The setting of the camp is such that children start developing a sense of independence while trying new adventures. Summer camps are known for their safe environment and the fun activities for kids that they provide.

What do students do in summer camp?

During summer camp, children participate in a variety of group activities. For example, while participating in a sport like a volleyball or bowling, a child learns how to work on a team, communicate with other children and solve problems on their own.

Why is online summer camp important?

READ ALONG APP BY GOOGLE 

Google's 'Read Along' app which first launched in India as 'Bolo', is now available in over 180 countries and in nine languages. This app help kids learn as they read out stories by giving verbal and visual feedback.

Google’s Read Along app helps kids learn by giving verbal and visual feedback as they read out stories.

Read Along uses Google's text-to-speech and speech recognition technology to listen and detect if a kid is reading out the sentence wrong. The app is also taught to give positive and encouraging feedback to offer the teacher-student or parent-kid learning experience. Read Along also has stars and badges that kids can collect as they progress through.

On the Read Along app, kids will interact with an in-app reading buddy called 'Diya' who will act as the communicator. Diya will appear on the app's screen throughout and kids tap on it to learn pronunciation of a certain word or sentence anytime. In addition to stories, there are games as well on Read Along.

This app also lets parents create multiple reading profiles and they can track each kid's reading progress by tapping on their photo. Read Along will also recommend stories based on the kid's reading progress. As they go up, the difficulty level of stories will increase too.

The app doesn't have any ads or in-app purchases, and even works offline. Stories can be downloaded on Wi-Fi or mobile data, and can be read later in offline mode. It doesn't require signing in either and Google says that voice data is analysed only in real time and not sent to any of its servers.

"Bolo" is an application designed by Google for primary grade children, to improve their reading skills, by encouraging them to read aloud and giving them instant feedback - even when completely offline.

Read Along, formerly known as Bolo, is an Android language-learning app for children developed by Google for the Android operating system. The application was released on the Play Store on March 7, 2019. It features a character named Dia helping children learn to read through illustrated stories. It has the facility to learn English and Indian major languages i.e. Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Urdu as well as Spanish and Portuguese. It basically uses text-to-speech technology, through which the character named Dia reads the story, as well as speech-to-text technology, which mechanically identifies the matches between the text and the reading of the user. The story of Chhota Bheem and Katha Kids was added in September 2019.In April 2020, a new version of the application was released.In September 2020, it added arabic language to its language option.

Offline file containing the exam - (Exam layout) This feature is used to start offline exams or to unlock ongoing exams. Teachers can download an exam as an offline file. This offline file can be saved on a USB-drive which can then be used to start exams for students without an internet connection or to unlock started exams. This file can only be opened using the DigiExam client and will be encrypted for security purposes.

Start an exam with an offline file

To start an exam with an offline file, you need to add the downloaded file to a USB-drive, which can then be used to start an exam offline. Start the exam offline by opening the DigiExam client on a computer with no internet connection, then insert the USB-drive with the offline file into that computer.

The DigiExam client will automatically download the exam from the USB-drive and show the title of the exam clearly with green text. When the title of the exam appears in the DigiExam client, the USB-drive can be removed and the exam can be started. You can also use an offline file to unlock an exam. For example, if a student's computer freezes, and their exam is handed in early, you will need to unlock their exam in order for them to continue.  Insert your USB-drive with the offline exam file in their computer, and it will pull up the exam on the client, allowing them to continue working on their exam.

A USB-drive is required when starting/handing in an exam offline, whether it is an external hard drive or a memory stick. Keep in mind that there are different types of USB-drives that fit different USB ports, and that not all USB-drives will fit/work on all computers. For example, the most common USB connection at the time of writing is type A standard, which fits most computers. However, many new computers and electronic devices use the USB connection type C, which will not fit in type A USB ports and vice versa (figure 7).

This helps students who are not good at academics to show their talents in other fields such as arts, humanities, sports, music, athletics and also helps motivate students who have a thirst for knowledge.

In 2017, the SCE system was canceled for students appearing on the Class 10 Board Exam for 2017-18, bringing back the mandatory Annual Board Exam and eliminating Formative and Summative Assessments under the remodeled Assessment Pattern.

School-based Comprehensive Evaluation (SCE) was an assessment process, mandated by the Right to Education Act, of India in 2009. This assessment approach was introduced by the state governments of India as well as the Central Board Secondary School of India, for sixth to tenth grade and twelfth-grade students in some schools.

From this, the student of smaller classes would have the practice to face the board exam at an earlier age. The Karnataka government introduced SCE for grades 1-9 later and it was also introduced for 12th-grade students. The main objective of SCE was to evaluate all aspects of the child during her presence at school.

It was believed that this would help reduce the pressure on the child during/before exams as the student will have to take multiple tests during the year, of which neither test nor the covered study program will be repeated at the end of the year, absolutely. It was claimed that the SCE method brought huge changes from the traditional chalk and speech teaching method, provided it is implemented accurately.

As part of this system, student grades were replaced by grades that were assessed through a series of curricular and extracurricular assessments alongside academic ones. The aim was to decrease the student's workload through continuous assessment by taking a series of small tests throughout the year rather than a single test at the end of the academic program.

Students were only given grades based on work experience skills, dexterity, innovation, assertiveness, teamwork, public speaking, behavior, etc. to assess and present an overall measure of student ability. This helps students who are not good at academics to show their talents in other fields such as arts, humanities, sports, music, athletics and also helps motivate students who have a thirst for knowledge.
